In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), North Miami presents The Haiti Jazz Roots Project as part of its monthly “Jazz at MOCA” series. The Haiti Jazz Roots Project is an electric blend of outstanding musicians performing jazz-infused folkloric Haitian music. Led by guitarist Jean Chardavoine, the group comprises of Jennifer Louis (vocals), Mike Levine (piano/keys), Kenneth Jiménez (bass), Matisou Légba (Haitian drams) and Shay Eisten (drums). The museum galleries will be open by donation from 7–10 p.m. Admission is free.
