Keshet Chaim, Hebrew for “Rainbow of Life”, is an American-Israeli contemporary dance troupe, celebrating the spirit of Judaism and Israeli culture throughout the world. Keshet Chaim develops and presents original choreography fusing contemporary Israeli dance with Jewish folk dance traditions from across the Diasphora. Influenced by the multi-ethnic roots of the Jewish movement, music, art, poetry and culture, the group has entertained audiences around the world drawing from the timeless themes of Jewish culture to preserve tradition. Join Alper JCC at 1 p.m. in the Futernick Art Gallery, before the performance, to meet artist and photographer, Stephen Mack. Mack’s images are part of a series taken on location at several rock pits and home development sites in South Florida. The photographs capture the illusion of the majestic landscapes of the West, in the Ansel Adams tradition. Art gallery exhibit runs through January 31. Tickets are $20 for JCC Member and $25 for non-members. (Limited $5 tickets for ages 13-22 at Cultureshockmiami.org).
