La Boheme, the worlds most beloved opera, is the opening production of Florida Grand Operas 78th Season. Giacomo Puccinis heartbreaking tragedy is scheduled for four performances at the Arsht Center and two at the Broward Center in Ft. Lauderdale on November 15 and 17. La Boheme is set in the frigid cold of a Paris winter in the 1830s and follows the loves and fortunes of a small group of friends: the poet Rodolfo, the seamstress Mimi, the painter Marcello, the musician Schaunard, the philosopher Colline, and the coquette Musetta. Performances are Saturday at 7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday at 8 and Sunday at 2 p.m. Pre-opera talk one hour before each performance and Opera Talk-Back after the performance with FGO’s CEO Susan Danis and the cast. Tickets begin at $15.
