Concerts & Performances, Events of the Week

LeAnn Rimes, the pop singer who first hit the charts at 13 years old (with the country song “Blue”), performs a Christmas concert filled with holiday standards and original music.

Rimes is a multiplatinum-selling singer and ASCAP Award-winning songwriter. She has sold more than 48 million units, won two Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, two World Music Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards, two Country Music Association Awards and one Dove Award. At 14, Rimes became the youngest solo artist to win the Grammy Award for best new artist. At 15, she became the first country artist to win artist of the year at the Billboard Music Awards.

The past couple of years have been quite a resurgence for Rimes. In 2022, the world-renowned singer had a big year that included the release of her 19th album, God’s Work. The album, which features artists such as Ziggy Marley, Mickey Guyton, Aloe Blacc and Ben Harper, was No. 9 on Variety‘s list of the best albums of 2022. “You won’t find a richer collection of melodic writing on any album released this year, with the twists and turns that maybe only someone capable of all that virtuosic vocalizing could think to take a set of songs into,” the magazine raved. In April 2022, Rimes headlined an episode of the music series CMT Crossroads titled “LeAnn Rimes & Friends” alongside Mickey Guyton, Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde and Brandy Clark, who helped commemorate Rimes’ career and recognize the path she blazed for women in all genres.
