Lucia di Lammermoor is an acting and musical tour de force – one of the acid tests of what a great soprano is all about. Lucia is the unlucky Scottish girl who becomes a pawn in her family’s plot to revive its fortunes, is forced into a marriage against her will and butchers her bridegroom on their wedding night. Sung in Italian with English and Spanish projected surtitles. Performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center: November 11 at 7 p.m.; November 12 at 2 p.m.; and November 14, 17, 18 at 8 p.m. Performances at the Broward Center: November 30 and December 2 at 7:30 p.m.
