During his remarkable eight-decade career, composer and bassist Israel López “Cachao” was widely considered The Father of Mambo, and has been called “one of the most highly influential jazz artists of all time”. The multi GRAMMY® award-winning musician is well-known for having created improvisational jazz jam sessions that became known as Descargas. In celebration of his centennial, Cuban Legends will present “the ultimate jam session”, Cachao: The Master of Mambo, with some of the the most renowned jazz artists of all time paying tribute to one of their own. Cándido Camero, Juanito Márquez, Federico Britos and Alfredo de la Fe, along with The Cachao Mambo All Stars, will play the Master’s works commemorating 100 years of a life dedicated to music.
