Join guest speaker Dr. David Matz to discuss how Martin Luther King, Jr. used conflict to constructive ends. Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salaam (Oasis of Peace) is an Arab-Jewish intentional community in Israel that for 35 years has converted differences into a creative, thriving and unique community. King stimu- lated conflict to energize. The Oasis of Peace, with an equal number of Jews and Arabs, has built a bilingual-bicultural primary school and a training center where 65,000 Arabs and Jews have learned dialog together; it is now preparing a Master’s degree program in conflict resolution. This talk will look at two very different ways of working with conflict to produce positive results. Free.
