NSU Art Museum | Fort Lauderdale will present the first U.S. solo museum exhibition of London-based, Malawian artist Samson Kambalu, featuring 12 of the artist’s recent films. The exhibition is curated by Bonnie Clearwater, NSU Art Museum Director and Chief Curator. A prolific conceptual artist, ethnomusicologist and writer, whose work includes site-specific installations, video, performance art and literature, Kambalu humorously challenges canonical ideas about the history of ideas, art and religion while exploring issues of identity and freedom of expression. Museum hours: Daily 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Open until 8 p.m. the First Thursday of every month. Sunday noon – 5 p.m.; Monday closed. Adults $12; seniors and military $8; students $5; free for museum members, NSU students, faculty and staff. Admission is also free every first Thursday of the month as part of Free First Thursday Starry Nights presented by PNC Bank.
