Antonio Adolfo grew up in a musical family in Rio de Janeiro and began his studies at the age of seven. At seventeen he was already a professional musician. Adolfo wrote tunes that gained great success, winning international contests, and which have been recorded by artists including Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder, Herb Alpert, Earl Klugh, Dionne Warwick, and others. Antonio Adolfo is world-renowned among Brazilian musicians, and a towering figure in the development of Brazilian music. He will be joined by his daughter Carol Saboya, who studied singing in the U.S., taking part in the Grammy winning CD by Sergio Mendes Brasileiro and in some of her father’s performances. Single tickets for the South Motors Jazz series are $35 and $40 on the day of the concert. Gates open at 6:30 p,m.
