Susan Miller: Testament In StoneArt Exhibitions
Stone figures depicting Biblical figures such as Leah, Hannah, and Ruth will be on view from April 12 to September 11, 2016. The subjects of the pieces are connected to names from history, mythology and the Old Testament, like Solomon, Moses and Job. The Biblical passages, poetry, and prose that accompany the works serve as inspiration and are further invitation to reflect. In Miller’s work, there is a common ground between the artist, the material, the work and the viewer that is nourished by the memory and gravity of the sacred, where the sculpture becomes a repository for the verse. Museum hours are Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, $12 for families and free for museum members and children under 6.
