The Bass Ball and its upbeat after-party

will be an elegant gala celebration in support of the exhibitions and programs of the Bass Museum of Art.

Chaired by Criselda Breene, Diane Lieberman, Soledad Picón, Tui Pranich and Ines Rivero, the evening will be attended by Miami’s most distinguished cultural and civic leaders who will come together to honor the important role the Bass plays in the creative life of this community.

An imaginative setting will be created in Collins Park just for this event. In addition to enjoying delicious food, cocktails, champagne and dancing, guests will have the opportunity to bid on important works of art in a silent auction powered by Paddle 8 throughout the evening. The highlight of The Bass Ball will be the world premiere of a new work by Athi-Patra Ruga, the South African performance artist who has captivated the imagination of the art world.

The Bass Ball will be a two-tiered evening. Ball patrons will enjoy cocktails, a seated dinner, the performance and first dibs on the silent auction. Partygoers will then “keep The Ball rolling,” at 9 p.m. with a dance party and more surprise entertainment. “Keep the Ball Rolling” is chaired by Malena Assing, Clara Bullrich, Nathan Lieberman, John Lin, Adriana Vergara and Alexa Wolman.

Attire for the evening is Whimsical Black Tie – surrealist, fantastic, glam, mercurial, protean, fanciful. Prizes will be awarded to the Most Creative, Most Outlandish, Best Couple and Most Elegant.

Tickets to The Bass Ball are $1000 and may be purchased by emailing BassBall@BassMuseum.org. Tickets to Keep The Ball Rolling are $125 and are available through Event.BassMuseum.org.

About The Bass Museum of Art

Located in the heart of Miami Beach, the Bass Museum of Art offers a range of dynamic contemporary art exhibitions. Educational programs, artist projects, lectures, concerts and free family days complement the works on view. Now in its 51st year, the Bass Museum is currently undergoing an interior expansion which will increase its programmable space by nearly 50% without altering its footprint. While its building is closed for construction, the museum is presenting a series of artist projects and its popular education programs as bassX in a satellite space within the Miami Beach Library.
