Thibaudet Plays Liszt
Concerts & Performances
Cleveland Orchestra Miami’s 2015-16 season concludes with performances on March 17, 18, and 19 that feature the world premiere of a new work by Avner Dorman commissioned for The Cleveland Orchestra by the Adrienne Arsht Center to celebrate the organizations’ ten-year partnership. Dorman’s work will celebrate the diverse influences that comprise Miami’s musical landscape. A native of Israel living in the United States, Dorman has written music described by The Washington Post as “… sophisticated enough to appeal to an audience of classical aficionados, and approachable enough to appeal to people who have never been to an orchestra concert.” Also on the program is Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 (“Titan”), and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performs Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Tickets are $39 to $173.
