Join friends and supporters of American for Immigrants Justice at the annual awards dinner, Upholding the American Dream. Guest speaker is former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg who will deliver the keynote speech. Being honored are The Dream.US scholar and DREAMer Indira Islas, who will receive the America’s Immigrant Spirit Award, and Father Frank O’Loughlin, Executive Director of The Guatemalan-Maya Center, who will be presented the Holly Skolnick Human Right Awards. Senior Political Reporter for WPLG-10 Michael Putney will serve as emcee. Cocktails and silent auction at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and program and then after-dinner drinks and entertainment. Individual tickets are $350, and tables of ten are $3,500. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available ranging from $5,000 to $30,000. Proceeds will go toward providing critically needed legal services to the most vulnerable immigrants in South Florida including children, families, survivors of domestic violence and trafficking, and detained people.
