Fashionable Canines

Saks Bal Harbour Let the Dogs Out

Miami’s most fashionable dogs were out and about as Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour hosted an exclusive doggie fashion show. More than 40 dogs attended the event along with their proud owners and sat front row to watch 20 doggie models strut down the runway in the latest canine trends of the season.

A bartender greeted guests with champagne and doggie treats for their four-legged companions while the DJ featured music such as “Who Let the Dogs Out” and “Doggy Dogg World”. The doggie fashion show highlighted looks by Hartman and Rose such as colorful leashes, stylish collars and a variety of their Made-to-Measure Chinchilla and Mink coats, the perfect accessories for all fashion-forward canines. Other doggie-inspired looks by Adrienne Landau Dog and Juicy Couture were featured as part of the season’s doggie trunk show.

South Florida news anchor Kelly Craig served as the event’s emcee and announced all the “models” as they strutted their looks down the runway. Two lucky winners took home “Fur-cedes” doggie beds for their dogs to enjoy. Special guests included Helene Kovens along with her two precious Maltese doggies, Hugs and Kisses, who rolled down the runway in style inside their Saks stroller. Also in attendance were D.J. Kerr’s Princess and Tiara, who were walked down the runway by D.J.’s two handsome nephews.

After the show, some of the four-legged party-goers relaxed and enjoyed doggie massages while other “VIDs” posed for their doggie glamour shots. It was a day gone to the dogs.
