Children’s Cancer Care & Treatment

Government relations attorney Jorge Luis Lopez and his wife Marile Lopez opened their home to community leaders, including County Mayor Carlos Gimenez and County Commissioner Esteban Bovo, for a discussion about the future of children’s cancer treatment and prevention. Jorge Luis was recently appointed to the state board of the American Cancer Society (ACS) and Marile is Vice President of the Miami-Dade ACS board, as well as board member of the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. They realized that there are synergies between both organizations and there could be lasting benefits for children with cancer if they work together to help find better ways of preventing and treating the disease.
