Flamenco Festival Miami’s Starry Opening Night at the Arsht Center

Flamenco Festival Miami 2016 opened last week at the Adrienne Arsht Center with one of the most expansive and exciting programs in its 8-year history. Grammy Award-winning musicians, actors and national television personalities flocked the red carpet for the world premiere of “Oh Vida!,” a flamenco-flavored tribute to Cuban bandmaster Beny Moré. Among the special guests were (include a few names).
Flamenco Festival Miami continues through March 13 with 4 spectacular dance shows by flamenco stars directly from Spain including the 16-member Ballet Flamenco Andalucía (March 9 and 10) directed by Rafaela Carrasco, young flamenco sensation Rocío Molina joined by her company (March 12) and, concluding the festival, gender-bending dancer/choreographer/director Manuel Liñan (March 13) with his extraordinary company.
