Fried & True

Lee Schrager celebrates his new book with an exclusive PAMM dinner

Lee Schrager

Lee Brian Schrager, creator of both the Food Network South Beach and New York City Wine & Food Festivals, will celebrate the publication of his second book, “Fried & True: 50 Recipes For America’s Best Fried Chicken and Sides,” with an exclusive dinner at PAMM on May 27. One of the nation’s preeminent event planters and media relations experts, Schrager serves as VP of Corporate Communications & National Events at Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc.

“Fried & True” profiles hole-in-the-wall regional restaurants as well as big-name tres chic eateries that offer up finger-licking-good fried chicken, one of America’s common culinary denominators. Despite a degree in culinary arts and countless hours spent cooking in restaurants, Schrager had only prepared fried chicken a single time before he began scouring the country for recipes. Specialties like Nashville’s famous hot chicken, Maharlika’s Kick-Ass Batterless Fried Chicken, Blackberry Farm’s Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken and Dale Talde’s Kung Pao Chicken Wings, along with sides such as smothered cabbage, hash brown casserole and classic buttermilk biscuits, make up the book’s tried and true offerings. Written with Adeena Sussman, “Fried & True” features a forward by Whoopi Goldberg.

Sample from recipes included in the book and enjoy live music at the celebration party at Perez Art Museum Miami. Tickets are $175 for PAMM members and $200 for non-members and include tax and gratuity, plus a signed copy of the book. Space is limited. Call 305-375-3000 or email Events@PAMM.org to reserve your spot.
