Goodwill South Florida is celebrated its 65th anniversary in style with a fashion show featuring designs from Project Runway winner and Fashion Designer Jhoan Sebastian Grey. The award-winning Spirit of Goodwill band performed and South Florida celebrity Chef Eileen Andrade added culinary flair, working with Goodwill partner Badia Spices to infuse every dish on the menu with their spices.

The Craft Your Look Gala: Rediscovering Goodwill, was at Jungle Island and benefitted Goodwill’s mission to offer job training, employment opportunities, and job placement for people with disabilities and other barriers to work. The Gala, emceed by Univision Anchor Pamela Silva, will include an inspiring performance by the award-winning Spirit of Goodwill Band to remind guests what’s possible when you focus on abilities instead of disabilities.

“For over six decades, Goodwill South Florida has created pathways to meaningful work, transforming both lives and communities,” said Julie Greiner Weiser, Chair of Goodwill South Florida Board of Directors. “This is an opportunity for Goodwill to communicate the depth of what we offer and how we empower individuals to succeed and thrive.”

The fashion show with runway looks designed by fashion designer and season 17 Project Runway winner Grey, featured upcycled pieces that will be transformed for the Gala runway, highlighting Goodwill’s emphasis on sustainability. Grey is combining donated goods from Goodwill stores and the sewing skills of Goodwill employees, who have been working under his direction for the event.

Eileen Andrade, celebrity chef and owner of beloved Miami restaurants Finka and Amelia’s 1931, is working closely with Goodwill sponsor Badia Spices to curate the entire menu from cocktail hour to dessert, utilizing its spices in every dish. Badia Spices is one of several prominent South Florida businesses that employ graduates of Goodwill’s programs.

Bacardi’s mixologists will be on hand, crafting signature cocktails that will flow throughout the night.

The Gala was a night to remember. Funds raised directly support Goodwill South Florida’s mission to provide individuals with disabilities and other barriers to work the necessary training, resources, and employment opportunities to lead fulfilling lives.

“Goodwill South Florida is driven by a commitment to create avenues for individuals with disabilities, helping them discover their strengths and apply their talents in meaningful ways,” said President and CEO of Goodwill South Florida David Landsberg. “This evening celebrates that enduring impact and the legacy we’re building together.”
