Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s “Let the Sunshine In”
The outdoor Women's Philanthropy event drew more than 250 guests to the North Beach Bandshell.
Close to 250 women from across Miami’s Jewish community gathered on November 16th for a morning of inspiration at the North Beach Bandshell, which provided a beautiful outdoor setting for a long-awaited chance to gather in person to celebrate and support the mission of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
“After everything our community has been through this past year and a half, it certainly feels like a blessing to be here today.” Women’s Philanthropy (WP) President Tammy Woldenberg reflected on the collective spirit of the recent WP event when she welcomed the women with those words.
Elise Udelson, Women’s Philanthropy Campaign Chair, offered inspiring words about how funds raised from the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign help supports more than 160 vital programs and strengthens Jewish life in Miami, in Israel and in more than 70 other countries around the world and has the infrastructure to respond at a moment’s notice to urgent needs. In fact, Director Ofi Osin-Cohen, a survivor of the collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, anchored the gathering with an emotional first-hand account of how Federation’s safety net of services helped her through the tragedy. Her story is a powerful reminder that Federation’s work is not only for someone else but is there for all of us should we ever need it.
