This month’s edition of Performances on the Green, presented by the Village of Bal Harbour, featured Miami Light Project’s former “Here & Now” artists Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre and DJ Le Spam and the Spam Allstars.

There was a slight chill in the air at ONE Bal Harbour Resort and Spa on this fabulous Miami night as more than 200 attendees enjoyed the lively and whimsical excerpts of Miami-based choreographer Rosie Herrera’s work Pity Party. “My work is not only influences by modern dance,” she explained, “but by cabaret, theatre, hip hop and drag.”

Seven Local Leaders Seek Fundraising Crown

On Saturday, March 26, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man and Woman of the Year will be honored at a gala event set for the InterContinental Miami Hotel. Seven extraordinary individuals have campaigned for the titles, using their leadership skills and resources to spread the word and fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The man and woman candidates who raise the most funds before the gala will be awarded the titles of Miami’s Man and Woman of the Year, and they will be in line for consideration on the national level. The seven vying for the titles are inspired by the Boy and Girl of the Year, local blood cancer patient survivors: eight-year-old Victoria Mejia and 11-year-old Alex Aguilera, both Leukemia survivors.
