His House Children’s Home (HHCH), sponsored by Comcast, Leyva Capital, and Ubreakifix, hosted their 11th Annual “Imagine” Charity Gala at The JW Marriott Marquis Miami. Hosted by Ambrosio Hernandez, Senior News Anchor of WSCV/Telemundo-51 and eight-time Emmy Award winner, over 500 guests celebrated a special evening to benefit the lives of children in foster care.

The spectacular evening began with a cocktail hour followed by fine dining and musical entertainment. Participants had the opportunity to bid on auction items, which included Montica fine jewelry, vacation getaways, autographed sports memorabilia, tickets to meet and greet Andrea Bocelli. A live auction, presented by professional champion auctioneer, Jim Gall, sold items such as an Azamara Club Cruises’ 14-19 day voyage to anywhere in the world within 66 countries. Dance in Motion volunteered a beautiful ballet performance and Marie Elena Elvira “Manena”, Florida’s 2014 Hispanic Heritage Month Artist, created a signature piece live during the event.

Among those who attended were Florida State Senator Rene Garcia, TV hostess of “Acceso Total”, Marianna Rodriguez, Miami Congressional Candidate Carlos Curbelo, honorary hosts Jay and Jessica Leyva, Honorable Judge Monica Gordo and Congressman Joe Garcia.

“It is always a pleasure to spend time with my friends at His House. Their hard work and dedication is a true testament to all,” affirmed Senator Garcia.

The audience was greatly moved by the testimony of Alvaro, an immigrant minor who at age 15 escaped his life of abuse in Guatemala and arrived when he was only 15 years old. Alvaro explained he was so inspired and encouraged at HHCH to build a new life. Today, a Dade Christian School graduate, Alvaro is a college student aspiring to become a nurse practitioner and also currently employed at HHCH.

“I was moved by the love, kindness and generosity of “His House” towards these children who are in such need of healing. It’s truly inspirational and I was honored to have been invited to the gala,” said Mariana Rodriguez.
