Human Rights Watch Miami Celebrates Human Rights Day 2019
Human Rights Watch celebrated the launch of its Miami Committee at an intimate gathering hosted by Marvin Ross Friedman and Adrienne bon Haes on December 10th. This special event took place on International Human Rights Day to bring attention to the rights we all share—to live, love, think, speak, work and worship, regardless of how we look, where we were born, or what we believe.
Miami Committee Chair, William Kleh, highlighted the importance of Miami joining a global network of cities dedicated to defending fundamental freedoms. Guest speaker, Nic Dawes, Deputy Executive Director at Human Rights Watch, noted the many stories of success achieved by the organization over the last year in countries all over the globe.
For over 40 years, Human Rights Watch, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, has been one of the world’s leading independent organizations dedicated to protecting human rights. On March 4th at the New World Center, the Voices for Justice dinner will raise funds for this vital work. To attend, please visit hrw.org/miamidinner2020
