Jon Bon Jovi, Jimmy Buffett Rock Out at Annual ForEverglades Benefit

Jon Bon Jovi – with a special cameo by Everglades Foundation board member Jimmy Buffett – had guests rocking out at the Foundation’s annual “ForEverglades” Palm Beach benefit held at The Breakers. Guests heard a moving tribute to Everglades champion Nathaniel Reed given by Carl Hiaasen and roared with approval and a standing ovation for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis following the Governor’s pledge to continue to fight for the environment and America’s Everglades. After dinner, golf great and Foundation board member, Jack Nicklaus, spoke of heroes, innovators and scientists shooting for the moon when introducing former astronaut Captain Mark Kelly. Foundation CEO Eric Eikenberg and COO Shannon Estenoz joined Captain Kelly to introduce the finalists for the Foundation’s $10 million Barley Water Prize named for the late George Barley, who are working to solve both Florida’s water pollution problems and the global freshwater crisis.

The night ended with all guests on their feet for Jon Bon Jovi. The rock star themed event brought together business leaders, champions of science and philanthropists from Palm Beach and across the country in support of America’s Everglades, raising over $3 million.
