Kevin Spacey to Perform at Arsht Center Gala

Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts celebrates its 8th anniversary

April 5, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts 1300 Biscayne Blvd, Miami 786-468-2020 advancement@arshtcenter.org Actor and singer Kevin Spacey will take the stage of the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County’s John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall for a special performance at the Center’s Annual Gala on April 5, 2014. The two-time Academy Award-winner and star of Netflix’s House of Cards, who previously directed, starred and sang on the album of the Bobby Darin biopic “Beyond The Sea,” will perform at the intimate gala event. The Center will transform the Knight Concert Hall into an intimate dining and performance space, providing a one-of-a-kind setting for this special evening.

Accompanied by the University of Miami Henry Mancini Institute Big Band Orchestra, and directed by Grammy Award winner Shelly Berg, with musical direction by multi-Grammy Award winner Gregg Field, Kevin Spacey brings his amazing talents as a Broadway actor and remarkable singer into the spotlight for an intimate evening of stories and song. Hear one of America’s most riveting show business icons as he steps up to the microphone, reinventing hits from the Great American Song Book, including a few of Bobby Darin’s swinging tunes, in a performance befitting the Miami philanthropic, business and civic celebrities attending the Gala.

7th Anniversary Adrienne Arsht Center Gala

Two of South Florida’s most prominent philanthropists, Swanee and Paul DiMare, will chair the 2014 Gala event and the institution’s name benefactor, Adrienne Arsht, will serve as honorary chair. Margaret and Mike Eidson are co-chairs and Margarita and Armando Codina are Gala sponsors. An esteemed group of Miami arts leaders have also joined as co-chairs, including: Ana-Marie and Robert Barlick; Cathy and Jeff Bartel; Trish and Dan Bell; Bunny Bastian; Louis Brais, Bouygues Civil Works Florida; Paula and Bob Brockway, Mercedes Benz of Coral Gables and Old Cutler Bay; James Ferraro; Tina and Robert Furniss-Roe, Bacardi U.S.A.; Sue Miller on behalf of the Miller Family Foundation; Gilberto Neves, Odebrecht USA; Barton G. its Gala in sync with the Center’s overall mission to be the centerpiece of culture in Miami. Most importantly, the dollars raised will be reinvested back into our community through the Center’s annual slate of educational programming.”

Spacey is especially pleased to headline the Arsht Center Gala, as he has remained actively involved in live performing arts, serving as artistic director of the Old Vic – one of the London’s oldest theatres – and as a mentor to emerging artists supporting their creative projects within performing arts and film through scholarships and grants raised through the Kevin Spacey Foundation.
