With over 1000 guests in attendance, Voices For Children Foundation presented its 3rd Annual Lucrecia Concert at the Deauville Hotel as part of “A Festival of Voices” in partnership with LaHabana Cabaret and presented by CommerceBank.

Lucrecia, currently living in Barcelona, Spain, has many fans in Miami who welcomed the opportunity to enjoy her music at the Voices For Children event. An authentic Cuban big band was especially assembled for the occasion under the direction of Yainer Horta. The program included classic Cuban hits of the 1950’s, such as Cachita, El Cumbanchero, Besame Mucho, and, of course, the ever-famous Guantanmera. Lucrecia and the band had the room swaying and singing along.

The event’s success was made possible by the generosity of presenting sponsor CommerceBank and all the other sponsors. These included: Miccosukee Resort and Gaming, Bacardi U.S.A., American Airlines, Mandarin Oriental Miami, The Miami Herald, Selecta Magazine, Diario Las Americas, Telemundo, SBS Radio, Machado-Garcia Serra, Avatar Real Estate Services, De la Pena & Associates, Raul and Mily de Molina, Zubi Advertising, Davide Realty, and Maida Cisneros, who provided Lucrecia’s gown, among others. Thanks to Maria Montoya and Ambrosio Hernandez from Telemundo, who served as emcees. With the help of all of these contributors, the event raised over $100,000 to help abused and neglected children in Miami-Dade County through the Guardian Ad Litem Program.
