Master’s Mystery Art Show
More than two hundred Miami socialites, art connoisseurs and collectors gathered at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach to open Art Basel in style at the fifth annual Master’s Mystery Art Show to raise money for Florida International University’s Master’s in Fine Arts program. VIPs at the invitation-only event included gallerist Diana Lowenstein, Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Bryan Glazer, Martin Elortegui, Robert and Kausilla Arthur, Marcelo Claure and Jeffrey Cohen who dined on gourmet passed hors d’oeuvres that were artfully prepared by Ritz-Carlton chefs and served on hand-blown trays made from Don Q rum bottles by artist Susan Banks. Chef Jeff McInnis of The DiLido Beach Club, the only South Florida chef on this season’s Top Chef, dazzled party-goers with a-la-minute hors d’oeuvres and behind-the-scenes tidbits from the show. More than 500 mini-masterpieces were on display and scooped up – the artist’s identity hidden until their sale – to raise more than $22,000 for a worthy cause.
