Medicine To Rock Your Soul
Local Impact (a non-profit organization) hosted a press day at their weekly music therapy session with a group of 25 Alzheimer’s patients at The Easter Seals of South Florida Memory Gym. Top local Miami bands have been donating their time once a week and jamming out with patients. It is a unique combination of worlds colliding as time stands still for one hour every Tuesday with patients rocking to punk, reggae, Cuban music, Haitian music and much more. Local Impact creates a seamless tie between our local art community (musicians, artists, photographers, actors, writers and filmmakers) and Social Health, Community-Based organizations that are in need of programming.
