Miami Art Museum Kicks Off its Annual Ball at home of Ambassador and Mrs. Paul Cejas
Ambassador Paul Cejas and his wife Trudy opened their spectacular home recently for MAM’s annual ball kick-off party. The evening served to launch the fundraising drive for the December 3rd event, which will be held under a big tent at MAM’s future home at Bicentennial Park. For the past 20 years MAM’s Museum Ball, the main fundraiser for the museum, has become one of the most anticipated events of the Miami social calendar. Held traditionally during the first week of December, it now crowns a week of art-related events attended by international guests drawn to Miami for Art Basel. Chairman of the Board of Trustees Aaron Podhurst introduced the 2005 Ball Chairs, Marijean and Rafael Miyar, Beverly and Bill Parker and Terry and Rob Schechter. Also in attendance was Mireille Chancy-Gonzalez, the 2005 Chair of the Ball’s Silent Auction which always attracts an enticing list of items, including cruises, art vacations, jewelry, and gifts for the home. At Bicentennial Park the 2005 Ball will be an evening of MAM under the stars, reflecting the landscape and beauty of our fabulous city and looking ahead to Museum Park, the future home of the new MAM facility and sculpture garden, the new Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium and a great public park for all visitors to enjoy. Ambassador Paul Cejas, Dr. Phillip Frost and Jorge Perez, Jr. form MAM’s capital campaign leadership for Museum Park. For more information about the Ball, contact Debra Chase at 305-663-5307.
