Miami Dolphins’ Alumnus Sam Madison Helped Hungry Kids Eat & Get Active This Summer
More than 100 children from a Miami youth center enjoyed healthy food and a game of flag football with former Miami Dolphins Cornerback Sam Madison on August 9th through the generous support of local nonprofit FLIPANY, Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth; PepsiCo Foundation’s Food for Good Summer Meals Program, and GENYOUth’s NFL Flag Football Program.
For many children in Miami, summer is the hungriest and most inactive time of the year. To bridge the gap, FLIPANY launched this program in early July to provide 2,800 nutritious meals to underserved children at 28 sites throughout Miami Dade County.
Representatives from each of the contributing organizations spoke before the kids took to the field for a friendly game of Flag Football.
