July is about to get a whole lot hotter. International media, celebrities, industry insiders, fashionistas and bikini clad models are set to take over a week in Miami Beach mid-July for Miami Swim Week, which includes the 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim from July 15-19, Swim Show 2011 at the Miami Beach Convention Center and Salon Allure at W South Beach from July 17-20.

Annually the fashion and trade shows coincide to celebrate and market swimwear designs from around the world. SocialMiami will be at the hottest shows, swimwear booths and exclusive after-parties – covering the guest lists, collection must-haves and everything in between. Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Swim, produced by IMG Fashion, is presented at The Raleigh Hotel. The invitation-only event will hold runway shows by 20 of the world’s leading swimwear and resort collection designers including this year’s ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer of the year, Trina Turk (See SocialMiami’s interview with Trina Turk at the Bal Harbour Shops); Mara Hoffman; Red Carter; Lisa Maree; Poko Pano; Caffe Swimwear; True Religion and Xtra Life LYCRA. ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer of the year has previously been awarded to Monica Wise for L*Space, Red Carter, Monique Lhuillier, Badgley Mischka and Chado Ralph Rucci.

Swim Show 2011, hosted at the Miami Beach Convention Center, is the country’s only industry swim show and the largest swimwear tradeshow in the world. Showcasing 350 exhibitors representing almost 2,000 lines, the tradeshow is a four-day platform for retailers, buyers and manufactures to discover upcoming cruise season trends, pricing and collections.

W South Beach is the home of Salon Allure, a new luxury brand tradeshow. Participating brands include Xtra Life Lycra, Vilebrequin, Tori Praver, Sibelle, Resort Life, Red Carter, MarysiaSwim, Martha Rey, Koral, Jessica Simpson, Ivana Sert Beach Fashion, Hot Tuna, Diesel, Charlie by Matthew Zink, Cala Ossidiana, Belusso and more.

In addition to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim at The Raleigh and the tradeshows at the Convention Center and W South Beach, events for Swim Week are located all over Miami Beach. W South Beach will host fashion shows with famed UK swimwear designer Melissa Odabash, Tori Praver, Red Carter, ANK and Cosabella.

FUNKSHION swim shows will be at The Setai and include Roberto Cavalli Swimwear, INCA, Eva Danielle and Paula Herbert. The Ganesvoort will host The One Group LifeStyle Retreat Lounge and pool parties on Saturday and Sunday. The Standard will also utilize their bayside pool by hosting the Quicksilver BBQ.

There is so much to do that even the most diehard swim fans can’t attend everything that Miami Swim Week is offering… even for those lucky enough to be on the guest lists.
