Mikey’s Cause
15-year-old 7th grader Michael Brewer (affectionately known by his family and friends as “Mikey”) was assaulted by his peers, covered in rubbing alcohol, and lit on fire. As a result, 65% of Michael’s body is covered in second and third degree burns. Though in critical condition, Michael is currently recovering at the Jackson Memorial Burn Unit. In support of Michael, “Mikey’s Cause” was spearheaded by CBS 4 Weatherman, Jeff Berardelli, CBS 4 Anchorwoman Cynthia Demos and CBS4 Weatherwoman Lissette Gonzalez at the Mondrian Hotel. Raffle prizes include 7-night Royal Caribbean Cruise, dance classes, personal training sessions, gift certificates from the China Grill Group, and more. The event was a complete succes with 100% of the proceeds raised being donated to Michael Brewer and his family. Pictured: Miriann Guazzini, Lisette Gonzalez, Jeff Berardelli, Cynthia Demos.
