Mimo Historic District
Dade Heritage Trust, Miami’s largest nonprofit historic preservation organization, recently recognized The Coppertone Girl Sign with its Annual Preservation Award. Originally installed in 1959 on the Parkleigh Hotel in Downtown Miami, the sign was donated by Schering Plough to Dade Heritage Trust when the Parkleigh was demolished. Funding from Schering Plough restored the sign for its final placement at 7300 Biscayne Boulevard in the heart of the MiMo Historic District.
