New World School of the Arts Legacy Society

Armando Guerra and his wife Maria Catá-Guerra, NWSA Executive Board member, hosted an elegant soiree in their Coral Gables home for New World School of the Arts’ supporters, founders, students and faculty. In addition to celebrating the school’s 25th anniversary and honoring its generous benefactors, the occasion also served to announce the inception of the NWSA Legacy Society, a gift-giving initiative that promises to sustain New World School of the Arts for decades to come. Conceived by former NWSA Foundation Board member Lydia Harrison and her husband Burton, along with current Board Chair, Dennis Edwards, the program is off to a stellar start with over $2 million dollars already pledged. Founding members of the NWSA Legacy Society were honored with a unique hand-made glass sculpture created by NWSA professor Susan Banks. Accompanied by champagne ‘n berries and savory hors d’oeuvres, guests enjoyed performances by NWSA musicians and theater students.
