Orange Bowl Committee President: O. Ford Gibson
The Orange Bowl Committee welcomes O,Ford Gibson as their new president, a member since 2000. Gibson will promote and serve the South Florida Community while overseeing the Orange Bowl’s commitment to youth sports. Since 1999, the Orange Bowl has invested approximately $4.5 million in youth sports in South Florida. Gibson has taken a role where he can positively impact the South Florida community, and the excitement comes with the chance to double host both the 79th Orange Bowl and 2013 Discover BCS National Championship Game. In addition to the annual football game, the 2012-13 Orange Bowl Festival includes the19th Annual MetroPCS Basketball Classic and a collection of entertainment, family and youth sports events. Andrew P. Hertz moves into Gibson’s previous role as President & Chairman-Elect and will serve as the 75th President & Chairman during the 2013-14 year.
