“Out of the Kitchen” 2025
A Culinary Extravaganza Supporting Diabetes Research

On Sunday, April 27th, the DRI Foundation held its epicurean extravaganza, Out of the Kitchen – South Florida. Over 200 guests started their evening with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while enjoying fine wines from Caymus Vineyards, Vega Clara, and Prosecco Zero. The main attraction was a three-course meal presented tableside by 17 of South Florida’s top culinary talents including Michelin Star and Bib Gourmand restaurants, and James Beard nominees. A lavish dessert buffet filled with sweet treats by premier pastry chefs and gourmet brands concluded the evening. Belkys Nerey, Emmy Award Winning Journalist, emceed the program and shared the stage with special guests including Michael Burton, DRI Foundation’s CEO, Ronnie Agress and Brody Sundheim, who were the evening’s testimonial speakers. Brody also received the 2025 DRIF Rising Leader in Diabetes Advocacy and Impact Award. $400,000 was raised to support the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
