Overtown Kids Get School Supplies From Brightline
Brightline joined the City of Miami, the Overtown Neighborhood Enhancement Team and a host of other sponsors to provide more than 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to Overtown students getting ready to go back to school. At the event children and adults took the pledge to stay safe around railroad tracks, which is part of Brightline’s safety initiative as it gets closer to launching new passenger rail service along Florida’s East Coast. Brightline, the only privately funded intercity, express train service in the U.S., will connect the communities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, with its MiamiCentral mobility hub partially located in Overtown.
