Meet Miami’s new generation of leaders at Palm

Join us Wednesday, January 31 from 6 to 9 p.m., for PALM presented by SocialMiami.com. Cristina Mas, Founder of CIM Consulting and an activist of local innovation, will emcee and recognize the new generation of Miami’s leaders and influencers at 1306, an urban oasis where old world charm meets the Downtown Miami skyline.

Ryan Anderson
Ryan Anderson is the co-founder of Wyn-Box, a collective of architects and professional builders, using shipping containers and modular prefabrication as turnkey customizable structures for branded pop-up activations and commercial and residential real estate uses. His approach to building is focused on creating sustainable modernization of development practices, where modular, temporary and movable permanent structures are a departure from traditional methods. He and his team are credited with building the first fully approved permanent shipping container structure in the City of Miami. Ryan is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and was instrumental in helping to develop the experiential micro-urbanism activation known as The Wynwood Yard, located in the burgeoning Wynwood Arts District, Miami, Florida.

 
 
 
 
 
 
Ekaterina Juskowski
Ekaterina Juskowski is a Miami-based artist and activist. She is the founder of Miami Girls Foundation, a non-profit “media for social change” platform that supports female leaders shaping the future of Miami by amplifying their voices through media partnerships, social media campaigns and multimedia art projects. Last week MGF together with Awesome Foundation Miami launched Miami Girls are Awesome! project to celebrate female community leaders by giving $1000 grants for impactful ideas. Benton Galgay
A Miami resident since 2004, Benton Galgay made his first impact as Music Director & General Manager of WVUM from ’06 to 2008. Growing his list of devotees, Benton kept the cultural conversation alive with a slew of conceptual events & DJ residencies for the likes of Poplife, PS14, Black Bar, The Electric Pickle and Gramps. In 2011 his creative efforts focused around record label Cosmic Chronic; alongside founder Mickey de Grand IV, he worked to present the group Psychic Mirrors. In 2015, he was granted a fulltime position with the Rhythm Foundation as the organization’s Production Director and Director of Operations of North Beach Bandshell. Under his guidance, the Bandshell has hosted over 200 performances in the past three years including highlights from Devendra Banhart, Ibeyi, Tortoise, Flaming Lips, and Ground Up Music Festival. When all is said and done you can still find him spinning vinyl every Friday night at Gramps, sharing his love of music with the world.
