In celebration of the Museum’s first anniversary and the opening of the major exhibit, Building Bacardi: Architecture, Art and Identity, the Coral Gables Museum is presenting a party to remember at the Biltmore Hotel on Friday, November 9th.

Back in the days when Havana was the nightclub capital of the Western hemisphere, Tropicana, with its lush outdoor performance space and groundbreaking modernist buildings, was the center of Cuba’s music scene and the country’s most visited attraction. Like the Moulin Rouge in the 1890’s and Studio 54 in the 1980’s, Tropicana set the standard for its era. Entertainers and stars of stage and screen would spend a night drinking rum and dancing the mambo at the place that was known as Paradise Under the Stars.

Honorary Chairman Emilio Estefan, Event Chair Marie Vacca and the Museum invite you to Paradise Under the Stars: A Night in Old Havana. Take a step back in time and place and experience the music, dance and ambience of the legendary Tropicana night club. Beginning at 6:30pm, Travel the red carpet to the Tropicana Courtyard featuring a Bacardi bar, the Son Tres Trio, cigar senoritas and a variety of tasty tapas. Later in the evening, a colorful conga line will lead guests back in time to the lively and elegant Country Club Ballroom transformed into the Tropicana night club where they will be welcomed by dancers and music. After a sumptuous tropical Cuban dining experience, The New Century Dance Company will entertain with a dazzling night club floor show. Guests will then be encouraged to dance the night away to the Carlos Oliva Band.

Raffle tickets for a trip to Puerto Rico with spa hotel accommodations and a Bacardi facility tour will be available. All proceeds benefit the Coral Gables Museum. Tickets to Paradise Under the Stars are $350 per person. Table sponsorships are also available. 1950’s Formal Tropical Night Club Attire.
