Pawpurrazzi, benefiting the Humane Society of Greater Miami, is now in its 4th year as a major gala and scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2012 at Jungle Island. This event continues to drive Miami’s most influential pet loving philanthropists together to enjoy an evening filled with great food, great music, an exciting silent auction, and fun activities for both our two-legged and four-legged guests. Pat Wallace, along with her husband Milton, are once again, Bone-afide Chairpeople of the event with Bunny Bastian, Marisa Cisneros-Rizzon and Ann Rubino as Co-Chairpeople. We will continue the tradition of hosting the “Great Pets Who Walk in Front of Great People” show as well as pampering our four-legged guests with make-overs, their own gourmet buffet and dessert bars.

For tickets or more information about Pawpurrazzi, contact Laurie Hoffman at 305-749-1815 or by e-mail at laurie@humanesocietymiami.org

About Humane Society of Greater Miami

The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. Today, more than 300 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens each day are cared for at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center in North Miami Beach. We are able to give these animals a second chance by providing tender loving care, a good meal, shelter and medical care for as long as it takes to find them homes with kind, responsible and committed caregivers.

The organization works diligently at creating a more kind, just and loving community for the pets and people of Miami-Dade County. We offer programs and services to educate, inform and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and treat animals with the kindness they deserve. With the support of people from across Miami-Dade County, we are helping to create a better community for all.

Each animal that is cared for at our shelter is free from the threat of euthanasia while they wait for their forever family. More than 2,500 animals each year find their human companions and begin their new lives in the comfort of homes around our community and South Florida. Before a pet is available for adoption, great lengths are made to make sure the pet is healthy, vaccinated and spayed or neutered. We provide counseling and guidance to make sure the right match is made and the right pet is adopted into the right home.

We run two veterinary clinics, one in North Miami Beach and another in Cutler Bay where we strive to end our community’s pet overpopulation problem by performing more than 13,000 sterilization surgeries each year. We have programs that help the financially challenged people of our community by providing free services for vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a not-for-profit charitable animal welfare organization supported solely by donations, private grants and fundraising events. We are not government funded and rely on our local community for financial support. For more information, please call 305-749-1815 or visit our website, www.humanesocietymiami.org.
