Publix Miami Gives $10.000 To Margate Middle
General Mills’ Box Tops for Education program and Publix announced Margate Middle School as the recipient of 100,000 Bonus Box Tops in the 2011 “Team Education” Sweepstakes in the Publix Jacksonville division. The grand prize equates to $10,000 for Margate Middle School (Margate, FL) to put towards school needs and educational improvements. Box Tops for Education and Publix made a special presentation to the school during an assembly in February. Local resident Kelly Salazar, who entered on behalf of Margate Middle School, was selected as one of the four grand prize winners in the regional contest. Salazar joined Principal Earnest Toliver to accept the $10,000 check on behalf of the 6-8th school’s approximately 1,152 students.
