21st Annual Event Raises $80,000 for Families of Sick Children

Over 300 people attended the 21st annual Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of South Florida Twelve Good Men luncheon on Tuesday, April 29th, at Jungle Island. At this event, RMHC of South Florida honors leading men with a history of outstanding community involvement, civic service, and involvement in one or more of South Florida’s charity organizations. Honorees are first nominated by former 12 Good Men award recipients and then the event committee members select their 12 finalists. This year’s event raised about $80,000 to benefit children and families staying at the House That Love Built®”.

“We are very pleased with the success of this year’s event,” commented Soraya-Rivera Moya, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House. “We are delighted to pay tribute to these men who have worked hard for the betterment of our community and who share our passion for helping those who are less fortunate.”

The Ronald McDonald House is a place where families of seriously ill children, who are being treated at nearby pediatric hospitals, can stay during their medical crisis. No family is ever turned away for their inability to pay. This is the 32nd year of the chapter since its first House opened in Miami on the grounds of Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
