Rose Capital: Miami Beach Firm Wins National Award
Investment returns are easily measured but when it comes to much if the work done by Miami Beach based Rose Capital Advisors, there are no calculations. In their clients’ times of need, these professionals have been awarded by their power of attorney over real estate deals and access to hospital rooms.
“There are a zillion people who can sell you a muni bond,” says Michael Rose, founder and managing partner. “People aren’t dealing with us because we got them 50 basis points higher. We take care of our people as if they were family. We act as true fiduciaries. It’s above a business relationship.”
That’s exactly why Rose Capital Advisors, a boutique investment firm in Miami Beach, received national recognition by an industry-leading magazine recently in New York. The firm is a multi-family office – meaning it caters to a hand-selected collection of professional athletes, entrepreneurs and other high-net worth individuals – and was herald as best of this category by Private Asset Management Magazine.
“There are tons of people who do what we do,” says Rose, 43. “We continually strive to provide an enhanced, customized and unique client experience.”
Rose for the past two years, has been working closely with head of business development Gareth JV Evans, who focuses mostly on customer relationships. But Evans’ has a networking strategy that’s a bit out of the box, as the 49-year-old has a penchant for extreme sports. For example, he recently ran seven marathons in seven days in seven continents and he’s preparing to climb Kilimanjaro in September, which will be the first of seven worldwide peaks he plans to conquer.
“I’ve met some fascinating people and it’s great for business development,” says Evans. “It reflects the spirit of the firm. People like to deal with interesting people who aren’t in suits. We’re the normal guys.”
Both principals are highly engaged in the philanthropic communities. Evans embarks on each adventure raising funds for Best Buddies International, which he supports with his own pocket as well, attending events and sitting on the board. Rose sits on the board of the Mourning Family Foundation
“We truly believe in giving back,” says Rose, who with his wife Luanne Rose has a baby daughter. “We’re not doing it for business connections but when its genuine, it always comes back two-fold.”
