Skate Spot
The muti-use “instant park” in Downtown Miami, Grand Central Park, has a new amenity for neighborhood kids. The Skate Spot at Grand Central Park is the only legal place to skateboard outdoors in Downtown Miami. The Skate Spot at Grand Central Park was paid for by donations from Bradley Knoefler, founder of Omni Park Redevelopment Association (OPRA) and pictured with skater Nick Katz, and the Sandra E James Foundation.
“The skate community needs to own this space,” says Mark Lesniak, executive director of OPRA, “we provided a skeleton it’s up to them to do the rest. For now, its a legal and safe place to skate.”
