What a bonus! Being in New York for New York Fashion Week, I was thrilled to attend the 31st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner to benefit The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis on Monday, September 12th at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City-as we all know, the Buoniconti Fund holds a special place in my heart, and missing a few fashion shows did not compare to the excitement of the evening with many of Miami’s philanthropists and supporters.
Receiving special tribute that night was Golden Globe winner Christian Slater, who received The Buoniconti Fund Award (and of course brought along his dazzling wife, Brittany Lopez Slater); Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton, who will receive The Humanitarian Award; James L. Nederlander, President of The Nederlander Organization, who will receive The Buoniconti Fund’s Outstanding Philanthropist Award, presented by Miami Royalty Gloria and Emilio Estefan—who brought along only their cast of the smash hit Broadway musical On Your Feet! The Musical – The Story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan for a Live Performance—we were ALL on OUR feet!
…And the SHOPPING!! The “Great Sports Legends” Silent Auction was spectacular! Guest were lining up to bid on fantasy experiences, sports memorabilia, exquisite jewelry, terrific trips, wine, luxury accessories(the luxury handbag area itself was a close resemblance to the newly unveiled first floor of luxury items at Bergdorf Goodman)!
