SocialSnapshot: Chelsea Ambriz
The meteorologist and Junior League of Miami member speaks to us in her own words.

Chelsea Ambriz is a weekend morning meteorologist and climate change reporter for NBC6’s First Alert Weather team since August 2022. She is an Emmy-nominated journalist and holds the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation; a distinction that recognizes excellence in weather broadcasting and scientific accuracy.
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Ambriz earned her Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science and a Certificate in Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She later completed her Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management, with a concentration in Energy and Sustainability, from the University of Denver in Colorado.
Now based in South Florida, Ambriz is an active member of the Junior League of Miami, where she dedicates her time to community service. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and educating viewers on how society can adapt to the challenges of climate change.
