The chair of the Coral Gables Commumity Foundation speaks to us in her own words....
Lifetime Coral Gables resident Laura L. Russo Chair is of the Coral Gables Community Foundation, having served on its Board of Directors for 5 years. Russo is a land use and government lawyer with more than three decades of experience in representing developers, private property owners and single-family homeowners in the City of Coral Gables. Russo graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the university is also where she earned a Juris Doctorate (JD.) Russo served on the Editorial Board of the University of Miami Law Review and is AV Preeminent Peer Review rated with Martindale-Hubbell.
Russo is a Trustee on the Board of Trustees for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart from 2016 to the present. She has served as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Coral Gables Bar Association from 2011- 2019 and was President in 1989-1990. She was appointed as Special Master for Code Enforcement for the City of Coral Gables from 2005-2010, is a long term member of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and has served numerous terms on its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She is a past Director of the Coral Gables Museum and The Salvation Army.
