Star Athletes and Chino y Nacho at The Miggy Ball
Detroit Tigers MVP slugger and Triple Crown winner, Miguel Cabrera, hosted ‘The Miggy Ball,’ to benefit the Miguel Cabrera Foundation, a charity established by Miguel and his wife Rosangel to suport local youth baseball programs and scholarships. Star athletes and VIPs Manny Machado, Hanley Ramirez, Placido Polanco, Jon Jay, Jose Iglesias, Ozzie Guillén and Juan Pablo Galavis came out in support of The Miggy Ball held at the The Café at Books & Books at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Over 400 guests enjoyed a surprise performance by Latin Grammy Award Winning duo Chino y Nacho, along with performances by Venezuelan singer Vladi Ramirez and Miami-based Venezuelan band Cuero Trancao, who kicked off the party. Alexandra Olavarria and Andrea Minski, local TV hosts on various networks including Telemundo, Univision and Mega TV, hosted the event and live auctions, which included items like Cabrera’s 2007 Florida Marlins jersey, baseball cleats, glove and bat. The prestigious “Triple Crown” was also on view. Guests enjoyed a complimentary open bar and Chef Allen’s fabulous food, and captured memorable moments at The Frank photo booth.
