Sylvester Cancer Center DOLPHINS CHALLENGE CANCER XI
The event, now in its 11th year, raised more than $6 million dollars for cancer research.
More than 3,300 runners and walkers, cyclists and volunteers convened at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday April 2021 to celebrate the 11th annual Dolphins Challenge Cancer XI event event for cancer research. And together they raised more than $6 million.
This year chaired by Tom Garfinkel, Vice-Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Miami Dolphins, and Jackie Travisano, EVP & COO University of Miami & Chair of the Dolphins Challenge Cancer Board of Directors, the DCC has become one of the nation’s most celebrated experiences inspiring thousands of cyclists, runners, and walkers to come together as one team focused on one unified fight.
The event raised more than $5.4 million for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami, in conjunction with the $75 million commitment the Miami Dolphins pledged to the organization last November for a year-round effort toward the cause. This year, top fundraising teams included: Team Lennar, raising $1,447,696; Team Hurricanes Sylvester, raising $1,146,202; Team Dolphins raising $406,499 and Team Hurricanes Mack Cycle raising $288,039.
