The Miami Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals initiated one of the first National Philanthropy Days in 1985. It is now celebrated around the world, furthering the tradition of honoring the local philanthropic community.
In partnership with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, The Miami Foundation and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, AFP Miami will celebrate its 30th anniversary and host the 2015 National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon, presented by Florida International University, on November 12, 2015, at Jungle Island.
The day will be specially designed to recognize and honor the great contributions individuals active in Miami’s philanthropic community have made to our lives, our local community and our world. To celebrate AFP’s 30th anniversary, the program will also feature a special look back in time at our city’s philanthropic milestones.

James W. McLamore Outstanding Volunteer Awards
Lewis “S” Mike Eidson and Ann Machado
Outstanding Grant Maker Award
United Way of Miami-Dade
The Julia Tuttle Award for Community Involvement and Corporate Citizenship
Miami Marlins
Reflecting the philanthropic history of Miami and the 30th anniversary theme, two special awards will also be presented at the luncheon:

Paul and Swanee DiMare
The 2015 Luncheon is co-chaired by AFP Miami board members Barbara Norland and Amy Powers. Registration and seating begin at 11 a.m., and the program will start promptly at noon. The event draws over 500 guests who gather to recognize, celebrate and highlight our community’s top donors, volunteers, foundations and other individuals and organizations involved in philanthropy.
