AllaWay Arrives
Editor Jenny Starr Perez, creative director Maria Galli and publisher Lissette Calderon held a swanky soiree to celebrate the inaugural issue of AllaWay magazine — a glossy focused on the Allapattah neighborhood. Over 100 VIPs came to the restaurant Leku including Lyle Stern, Jeffery Chodorow, Jilian Sanz, nibbling on lobster cones and short rib while thumbing through the pages featuring an interview with restauranteur Andreas Schreiner, Superblue director Shantelle Rodriguez, and a written tour of Allapattah’s storied past written by the renowned historian Paul S. George, PhD.
Miami Girls Honors 30 Founders
To celebrate the legacy of Miami as the only major American city founded by a woman, Julia Tuttle, Miami Girls Foundation in partnership with the Knight Foundation recognized top 30 Miami women founders. At an awards ceremony held at the Design District’s Paradise Plaza, heavy hitters such as Barbara Hevia, Ariana Pareja, Jacquelyn Goldberg came to support the honorees including Susanne Birbragher, Tara Solomon, Yenvy Truong, Tere Blanca, Nathalie Cadet-James and Katy Stoka. Miami Girls Foundation, founded by Ekaterina Juskowski, works to empower women in South Florida by amplifying their voices through media partnerships.
World Polo League
World Polo League Beach Polo World Cup has returned to hit the sands of Miami Beach’s Collins Park. This year, the event is hosting a charity celebrity round robin in partnership with Give Back for Special Equestrians, the Museum Hall of Fame and the Polo Training Foundation. Drawing a global audience of over 12,000 visitors and spanning 140 meters across the sands of Collins Park, the three-day equestrian extravaganza combines hosted a VIP tent with food prepared by the Sexzchef and Don Julio Tequila, Ketel One Botanical Vocka and Bodvár – House of Rosés. There, on site, was Nancy and Jon Batchelor and their son Chris Batchelor. Nancy Batchelor rides horses and brought to adorn the Compass real estate lounge an antique replica she’d purchased in Palm Beach years ago, in addition to some of her own wooden mallets.
